With the theme "Dreams Do Come True", Miami Mayor Tomas P. Regalado held his first Mayor's Ball on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the InterContinental Hotel, 100 Chopin Plaza; 100% of proceeds benefited the Miami Police Athletic League (PAL). Hundreds of guests gathered and more than $50,000 was raised for PAL.
The Miami Police Athletic League, Inc. (Miami PAL) is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization which relies on the generosity of extraordinary citizens and corporations, to provide resources that will keep inner-city under-represented youth, active, productive, and safe. The mission of Miami PAL is to enhance the relationship between the City of Miami Police Department, and underprivileged minority youth; through positive interactions and mentoring. The intention is to prevent juvenile delinquency through the avenues of academics, athletics, and activities.
